The Houston Airports saw 62 million passengers through Bush Intercontinental and Hobby Airport last year, down 1.6% compared to 2024. Domestic travel made up approximately 48.7 million of these passengers, down 2.4%, while international travel showed a slight 1.6% uptick, bringing in 13.3 million passengers.
In December, Houston saw 5.5 million passengers through HAS, down 1.2%, of which 4.2 million were domestic, and 1.2 million were international, up 1.4%.
Air Traffic – In the Numbers
Domestic travel dropped about 2% over last year. Bush Intercontinental Airport welcomed approximately 3.1 million passengers, down less than 1%, while Hobby Airport lost about 5% of traffic, bringing in 1.1 million passengers. United Airlines, who makes up almost 60% of total airline market share, showed a 2.2% increase in passenger traffic in December and an approximate 2% lift in traffic for the full year. In contrast, other major airlines like Southwest, American Airlines, Delta and Spirit, all saw declines in 2025.
International traffic through Houston Airports showed marginal growth in 2025, welcoming 13.3 million passengers, up 1.6% compared to 2024. Mexico and Central & South America made up the largest percentage of air passengers, representing about 67% of international traffic through HAS in 2025. Behind Latin America, Europe made up about 13% of international traffic, while Canada brought in the third spot at approximately 7% of traffic.
