Business and leisure travelers can now experience the charm of the Bayou City within The Westin Downtown.
The Westin Downtown, owned by Fertitta Hospitality and located steps from the George R. Brown Convention Center and Daikin Park, recently underwent a multi-million-dollar renovation aimed at updating and localizing the property.
“This renovation marks a new chapter for The Westin Houston Downtown,” said Brian Sciberras, General Manager of The Westin Downtown, in a press release. “People stay with us because of the care, service, and location we provide. With refreshed rooms and vibrant dining areas, we’ve created spaces that feel inviting, comfortable, and distinctly Houston.”
Updates made to the lobby area were one of the renovations key highlights, which feature a complete transformation of the Ballpark Bar, Ballpark Café and the main entrance. According to the hotel, the Ballpark Bar embodies a modern rustic atmosphere, incorporates materials inspired by Houston’s natural landscapes, and offers craft cocktails alongside gameday-inspired fare.
“Designed to be both energizing and functional, the renovation creates a dynamic space for leisure and business travelers alike,” stated the press release. “With an entertainment area thoughtfully dividing the lobby into two sections, the layout offers a versatile environment that welcomes guests with varying needs, ensuring the perfect lobby experience for connection, relaxation, and productivity.”
The Westin Downtown renovation extends beyond the lobby area and includes upgrades to the 200 guest rooms, fitness room and meeting areas. The refreshed rooms, inspired by Houston’s bayous, include new flooring, enhanced amenities, lighting fixtures, and technology enhancements. The hotel also offers 6,000 square feet of event space, ideal for corporate events, weddings, and social gatherings.
Throughout the hotel, the renovations celebrate the allure of the Bayou City and embody the brand’s philosophy of “empowering guests to eat well, sleep well, move well, feel well, work well, and play well, ensuring every stay is as restorative as it is inspiring.”
