Houston First Corporation (HFC) has earned the designation as a Great Place to Work for the second consecutive year.

Great Place to Work® is an internationally recognized platform used by respected organizations such as Fortune magazine. The platform uses a survey of employees to gauge their satisfaction with various aspects of their job.

In order to be designated a Great Place to Work, a company needs to receive an overall positive rating of at least 65% to the questions asked. Last year — HFC’s first year to participate — 74% of team members rated the organization positively, earning the company the designation. This year, that score increased to 76%. Perhaps most importantly, 83% of employees said HFC was a Great Place to Work in this year’s survey, up from 75% last year. For perspective, the average U.S. company score for this question is 59%. The organization also increased overall participation in the survey to 77% of employees, up from 75% last year, even with a larger pool of team members this year than last.

“I’m extremely pleased that HFC has earned this prestigious certification once again this year. We strive each day to ensure our high-performing team has the tools and support they need to do their best,” said HFC President and CEO Michael Heckman. “Our organization started this survey last year to hear directly from team members about what’s working and what areas need improvement. While we were pleased with last year’s results, we also took the feedback to heart and made changes, which I believe resulted in even higher scores this year. But the job of working toward a better corporate culture is never done, and we’ll do the same work this year to ensure we remain a Great Place to Work.”

One of the scores that stood out this year was the statement: I am proud to tell others I work here. An impressive 92% of people agreed with that statement, up from 88% in 2022.
