In July, Houston airports saw 5.8 million passengers, down 1.4% from last year. Domestic travelers made up approximately 4.5 million of these passengers, down just over 1%, while international traffic dropped about 2% to 1.36 million. 

Year to date, the Houston Airport System (HAS) has welcomed approximately 35.9 million passengers, down less than 1% year over year. Domestic traffic remained essentially flat at 28 million passengers, while international traffic totaled 7.7 million passengers, a 2.6% decline.

Air Traffic – By the Numbers 

United Airlines maintained its position as Houston's largest carrier in July, accounting for 59% of all flights, while Southwest Airlines held a 21% share, the second-largest portion of traffic. 

George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) served approximately 4.5 million passengers in July, holding steady compared with last year. Domestic traffic increased nearly 1% to 3.3 million passengers, while international traffic declined 1.4% to nearly 1.3 million passengers. Both arrivals and departures remained flat year over year, with approximately 2.3 million arrivals and 1.4 million departures. 

William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) welcomed nearly 1.3 million passengers in July, down almost 7% from last year. Domestic traffic fell just over 6% to 1.2 million passengers, while international traffic declined 9% to approximately 97,000 passengers.
