Those looking for a convenient way to get between Houston’s two airports and Downtown now have expanded options.

The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) has expanded its 500 Downtown Direct route to Hobby Airport and added additional stops in downtown Houston. The 500 route previously moved only between George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and the George R. Brown Convention Center (GRB).

The expanded service launched on February 22. There is now direct service linking both passenger airports and the Central Business District.

“This is METRONow in action—making it easier for people to choose METRO,” said the organization’s Chair Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock. “As we prepare to welcome the world for the FIFA World Cup, we’re building connectivity that will serve Houston long after the final match. This is about lasting access that strengthens our region every day.”
