American Liberty Hospitality recently completed a multimillion-dollar renovation of its 262-room Embassy Suites Houston Downtown and is planning another major renovation of a nearby property later this year.

Originally opened in 2011, the Embassy Suites has gotten a complete transformation, including all guestrooms, meeting spaces and public areas. The property located in the 1500-block of Dallas Street and within close proximity to the George R. Brown Convention Center remained open throughout the renovation to minimize business disruption.

The Embassy Suites offers a pool, fitness center, the full-service restaurant Hearsay on the Green and multiple meeting rooms for events of various sizes.

Houston-based American Liberty Hospitality (ALH) plans to begin renovations on its dual-branded Hampton Inn & Suites and Homewood Suites on Crawford Street in Q3 of this year.

With a Houston-centric design concept that blends Western style with the city’s rich culture and love for baseball (the property is just steps from the Astro’s Daikin Park), the 300-room hotel is set for a full transformation. The renovations will begin with the most visible spaces, starting with the public areas before extending to the guestroom tower.

Elements of the renovation include an expanded bar with a more visible lounge area for those looking for pre- and post-game libations as well as a brand-new game room complete with shuffleboard, a pool table and other activities.

Completion of Hampton Inn/Homewood renovation is expected by end of 2026.

The Downtown hotel market had a positive 2024 thanks in part to several record-breaking conferences and other events. Occupancy averaged 62% for the 12-month period, up nearly 5% over 2023. Average daily rate (ADR) rose 4.2% year-over-year while revenue per available room (RevPAR) jumped 9.3% in the submarket.
