A new hotel development on the southeast side of Downtown Houston has reached an important milestone.
PA Hospitality announced last month that the 221-room hotel the company is building in the 1500 block of Leeland near Toyota Center has topped out—meaning the structural framework for the nine-story hotel is complete. The property slated to open in January 2025 will include two brands under one roof—a Home2 Suites by Hilton and a Tru by Hilton.
"Today is a significant milestone for the construction of this property and a testament to the skill and diligence of all parties involved,” said Alif Maredia owner, PA Hospitality, in a press release. “Upon completion, we look forward to welcoming guests from near and far.”
PA Hospitality will manage the property once completed. The hotel will feature brand amenities including free hot breakfast, complimentary WiFi, and a 24-hour business center and fitness center.
E.E. Reed Construction LP serves as the contractor for the project.
Another project announced last year by Sugar Land-based Neway Hospitality will bring a 17-story Holiday Inn Express and Staybridge Suites property to Downtown. That 275-room hotel in the 1300-block of Texas Avenue is aiming for a late 2025 opening.
The Downtown Houston/CBD ended 2023 with occupancy at 58.2%, up 9.6% from a year earlier. ADR and RevPAR increased 5.6% and 8.7% respectively in the submarket.
