One of Houston's most recognized shopping districts continues to grow.

Rice Village's latest addition is Hill House Home, which will open its first permanent Houston boutique this fall, joining a growing roster of retailers expanding the district's shopping and dining offerings.

Rice Village openings in recent months include Sugared + Bronzed, FIGS, Hudson House, Birkenstock, GLO30, ParkerJoe, Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams and On.

More Developments in the Area

The district’s momentum extends beyond new stores. According to a report from the Houston Business Journal, local real estate firm Fifth Corner recently broke ground on Village Corner, a redevelopment of a retail plaza at 2400 Times Blvd. near Rice Village.

The Village Corner project is expected to include boutique retail, restaurant space, expanded patios and walkability improvements designed to strengthen its hospitality connection to the surrounding district.

Located near Rice University and the Texas Medical Center in Southwest Houston, Rice Village has been a beloved shopping hub for Houstonians since 1938.

Today, the district encompasses more than 300,000 square feet of retail space and features more than 60 merchants, creating a walkable mix of shopping, dining and entertainment with a comfortable proximity to Downtown.

Recent investments in Rice Village have prioritized the visitor experience through upgraded landscaping, improved walkability and community-oriented programming. That focus resulted in the creation and enhancement of the Rice Village Farmers Market, held on the first and third Sundays of each month.

Blending national retailers with Houston favorites, the district has maintained its reputation as one of the city's most eclectic shopping areas, offering everything from apparel and athleisure to home furnishings and specialty food concepts, often within a few blocks.
