Houston Theater Week Delivers Nearly $7 million in 5 Years for Local Performing Arts

Close to 42,000 tickets sold generating $2 million during 2026 event alone

HOUSTON (September 15, 2026) – As Houston Theater Week Presented by Huntington Bank completes five years, the event has generated nearly $7 million for local performing arts groups. Organized by Houston First Corporation alongside the Houston Theater District and the participating arts organizations, Houston Theater Week has become a solid annual cultural initiative.

This year’s week-long campaign capitalized on extensive promotions and Buy One, Get One Free deals to raise more than $2 million in revenue. Widespread support resulted in nearly 42,000 tickets sold to more than 400 live shows. Twenty-one different performing arts groups offered a diverse lineup of shows, from music and dance to theater. The list included world premieres as well as innovative new concerts and productions that foster community engagement and reflect Houston’s appreciation for creativity.
