Houstonians and visitors will soon be able to experience The Moran CityCentre with a modern Texas-inspired aesthetic.
The Moran CityCentre will undergo a multi-million-dollar comprehensive renovation, according to a press release from Midway, the operator of the CityCentre complex in West Houston. The renovation aims to enhance the guest experience; a full renovation of the hotel’s 244 guest rooms is already complete. Features updated in the rooms include updated furnishings, premium bedding, contemporary lighting fixtures, and cutting-edge technology enhancements.
"The renovation seeks to create a destination that distinguishes itself not only in Houston but as a model of hospitality and design. The goal is to blend the essence of Texas with sophisticated elements, ensuring a memorable stay for our guests,” said Robert Williamson, Senior Vice President of Investment Management at Midway.
The Moran CityCentre renovation extends beyond the guest rooms and includes a reimagined hotel entrance, lobby and front desk.
According to Midway, the redesigned meeting areas and a new lobby bar with a lively patio overlooking the mixed-use development’s central plaza will reshape communal areas.
In the first two months of this year, the Katy Freeway - West Houston hotel submarket recorded occupancy of 62%, up 2.2% over the same two-month period in 2023. The average daily rate (ADR) and revenue per available room (RevPAR), both key metrics of hotel performance, were up 5.7% and 8.1% respectively.
The project is scheduled for completion in late summer.
