As Houston’s hospitality industry continues to grow, Neway Hospitality opened its 275-room dual-branded hotel in Downtown Houston earlier this month.

The property under IHG Hotels & Resorts includes a 144-room Holiday Inn Express as well as a 131-room Staybridge Suites, and is located near the corner of Texas and Austin streets, just two blocks west of Minute Maid Park.

A press release announcing the opening of the property stated that the addition of 275 new guest rooms “strengthens Houston’s ability to welcome visitors from around the world—whether for business, leisure, or extended stays.

Amenities in the hotel include an outdoor heat pool, meeting space, full-service bar, fitness center, business center and a dining area.

It will also feature an Urban Street Market grocery concept, which will offer grab-and-go options. That element will open in coming months.

"Investments like this property are what make us a great city that people want to visit," said Houston First President and CEO Michael Heckman during a grand opening event.

Heckman also pointed out that a $1.1 billion investment underway at the nearby George R. Brown Convention Center will bring tens of thousands of additional visitors to our city annually once it's complete in 2028. That will mean more business for area properties. "We look forward to helping fill this hotel now and for many years to come."
