The JW Marriott Houston by the Galleria has wrapped up a multi-million-dollar renovation to modernize the landmark property.
The 516-room hotel this week unveiled the final phase of its transformation focused on its guest rooms, suites and corridors. That follows an earlier revitalization of the hotel’s more than 40,000 square feet of meeting spaces, lobby and executive lounge that were completed in 2019.
Parker-Torres Design led the redesign of the nearly 40- year-old property located at 5150 Westheimer, a short walk from the storied Galleria shopping complex. Parker-Torres focused on representing Houston’s rich history and culture through a modern lens.
“We are absolutely thrilled to provide such a warm space to welcome guests. JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria stands at the crossroads of multiple important neighborhoods and we take our commitment to hospitality very seriously,” says Ramon Ventura-Guzmán, General Manager at JW Marriott Houston by The Galleria.
The top-down makeover included new carpet, wallpaper, technology, lighting fixtures, furnishings and more for the hotel.
Houston First Corporation President and CEO Michael Heckman participated in the hotel’s official ribbon-cutting on April 19. Heckman congratulated Ventura-Guzmán and his team for successfully reimagining the property as a modern representation of today’s Houston.
The JW Marriott’s location near the Galleria, prominent neighborhoods such as River Oaks and corporate offices make it an ideal location for both leisure and business travelers.
