HFC offers two comprehensive medical plan options and picks up more than 80% of the cost.
Dental coverage options include preventive, basic, major and orthodontic care. Team members choose between a DHMO Plan and a DPPO Plan.
Vision coverage is included for free when team members get medical coverage. It includes eye exams, lenses, frames and contacts.
Health Reimbursement Arrangement
HFC reimburses team members with tax-free money to cover some medical, vision and dental expenses.
Flexible Spending Account
Team members can save money by making tax-free contributions to flexible spending accounts for health care and dependent daycare.
HFC provides basic life insurance coverage for full-time team members, spouses and dependent children. Voluntary life is also available to give even more coverage.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD & D)
In case of accidents, HFC covers many of the basics. Team members have options to enhance this coverage.
Short-term and Long-term Disability
Team members are covered by a company paid short-term disability plan if an illness or injury lasts more than 15 days. Coverage amount is equal to 60% of salary for both STD and LTD with a maximum weekly amount and maximum payment period.
Preventive Wellness Hours
HFC provides every Team member with a day of wellness hours each year for preventive medical and dental care.
Employee Assistance Plan
When responsibilities of life add up, everyone can use a little support. The EAP is designed to assist our team members in getting the help they need to overcome personal issues.
Paid Time Off (PTO)
Team Members enjoy time off for personal use, vacation or for care of themselves or a loved one. The longer the team members stay, the more PTO hours they get.

Team Members are encouraged to volunteer for causes that matter most to them, and HFC supports them through paid time off.

Funded by you and Houston First, all team members become vested in the Houston Municipal Employee Pension System after 5 years of credited service.
