Houston • Jan. 29, 2016

Houston First Corporation has hired veteran fundraiser Paul K. Allison to help develop philanthropic collaboration and resources to fund new initiatives.

"Paul has more than 20 years of experience in this area and will be a big asset for us," said Dawn Ullrich, president and CEO of Houston First. "In addition to laying the groundwork for a new philanthropic program, he will also concentrate on building public-private partnerships on our behalf."

Allison’s formal title with the local-government corporation is senior vice president of resource development.

Previously, Allison served as executive director of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists Foundation and president of the Braes Bayou Rotary Club. Allison has been an important part of several successful billion dollar university campaigns, including the Rice University Centennial Campaign.

Other experience includes development and financial leadership at the University of Maryland, University of Minnesota, Oregon State University, and at American Express.

Allison is a graduate of the University of Minnesota and was a longtime resident of that state. He is an Eagle Scout and an active volunteer.
