Houston • Aug. 27, 2014

HOUSTON – Four new members have been appointed to the board of directors of Houston First, the local-government corporation that operates the city’s downtown George R. Brown Convention Center and more than a dozen municipal properties.

Houston Mayor Annise D. Parker nominated and City Council confirmed the appointments of Phyllis J. Bailey, C. Fernando Cuellar, Harry Greenblatt and Chris Pappas to the board.

In addition, City Council appointed two of its own members, Dave Martin and David W. Robinson, to the board as ex-officio board members.

Bailey is owner and president of 3B Resources Group Public Relations.

Cuellar is general manager of the Hilton Hotel on the University of Houston campus.

Greenblatt is vice president and general manager of Houston Marriott Westchase.

Pappas is one of the founders of Pappas Restaurants.

The new board members replace those rotating off the governing body: David Arpin, Hasmukh Patel, Richard Rabinow and Thomas Deon Warner.

The next Houston First board meeting is September 22.
