HOUSTON (February 11, 2020) – Houston First, the city’s official destination management organization is proud to announce its partnership with the James Beard Foundation to present the 2020 James Beard Media Awards, sponsored by Capitol One. The exclusive event honors the nation’s top food authors, broadcast producers and hosts, and journalists. It all happens at Pier Sixty at Chelsea Piers in New York City, Friday, April 24, 2020.
As part of Houston First’s partnership with the nonprofit food organization of professionals, seven Houston-based chefs will represent the city by preparing a five-course meal for the hundreds of honorees and attendees at the prestigious event. This will certainly broaden Houston’s reach and gain invaluable publicity in the culinary world for the city and the chefs. Selection of the chefs is underway and will be announced at a later date.

The 2020 James Beard Awards will mark the 30th anniversary of America’s most coveted and comprehensive honors to celebrate chefs and other leaders in the food and beverage industry.
