The average length of stay for international visitors to Houston over the last year was 2.2 days and roughly 21% were repeat visitors to the city, according to an analysis of information from the data intelligence firm Near.

Mexico remains Houston’s largest international visitor market, followed by Canada, the United Kingdom, Australia and India. The average length of stay among visitors from Mexico was 1.9 days over the last year while visitors from the United Kingdom tended to stay longer, an average of 3.5 days. The data includes both leisure and business travelers.

When it comes to points of interest in the area most visited by international visitors, the Galleria tops the list. Other major destination points include the Upper Kirby and Midtown areas, the Texas Medical Center and the Southwest Houston/Chinatown neighborhood followed by Montrose and the Museum District.
