Winter storm approaches, city declares GRB as warming center

As the unprecedented winter storm approached Houston, Mayor Sylvester Turner asked that the George R. Brown become a warming center for the homeless and those who did not have access to adequate heat. Eleven heroic Houston First team members left their homes and families to work around the clock for six and a half days. Timothy Dickson, John Flores, Martha Garza, Tony Guerrero, Todd Holloman, Adam Logan, Christophe Malsang, Kenneth Mann, Aaron Reeves, John Sandoval, Tim Smith, Jaime Solis, Kerry Warner, led by senior vice president and general manager, John Gonzalez supported the city and OEM with shelter operations for nearly 800 people and their pets.
