Houston First Corporation supported the 12th Annual Have a H.E.A.R.T. luncheon that honored Carrin F. Patman, Chair of the METRO as the “Making Change, Changing Hearts” awardee, for her tremendous support in improving the lives of people with special needs or disabilities, and the annual MVP H.E.A.R.T. Trainees on September 10, 2019 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. Special guests in attendance were Mayor Sylvester Turner and Luncheon Co-Chairs Elizabeth Gonzalez Brock and Ashley P. Turner.
The H.E.A.R.T. Program was founded in 2006 to create new opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities to achieve their potential. H.E.A.R.T.’s mission is to promote structured independence for individuals with developmental disabilities by providing innovative education, training, housing and employment programs.
