Houston First Corporation made a financial investment in the city’s future leadership as a sponsor of the fourth annual Scholarship Soiree January 21 at the Hilton Americas-Houston hotel.
Entitled Ninety Shades of Maroon & Grey, the event is presented by the Jesse H. Jones School of Business Alumni Chapter of the Texas Southern University National Alumni Association. The event was well attended with more than 300 guests. Mayor Sylvester Turner was on hand to address the audience and congratulate the scholarship winners.
The business school group awarded seven $1,000 scholarships to deserving students. In addition, it also presented its “40 Under 40” young alumni business leaders in the community.
