Houston First supported the Central Houston Annual Meeting held at the Hilton Americas Houston; attended by approximately 1,000 business leaders. The program included Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner; Harris Country Judge Ed Emmett; Central Houston’s President Bob Eury; and Central Houston’s incoming Board Chair, Scott Prochazka, President and Chief Executive Officer of CenterPoint Energy who discussed that our region is currently in the early stages of developing an Innovation Corridor linking Downtown, Texas Medical Center and Rice University.
Central Houston focuses on the future of Houston, embracing Downtown and beyond. The organization actively seeks the ideas and voices of top business leaders and city officials to collectively visualize and facilitate the necessary factors that ensure these impactful ideas become a reality. The 2018 priorities focus on the image of Houston, quality of life, strengthening the economic base of Houston, and continued collaboration with the City, County, METRO and downtown property owners to improve the central city.
