Houston First’s Sharon Adams joins Super Bowl effort

HOUSTON – Sharon Adams, chief communications officer for Houston First Corporation, has joined the Houston Super Bowl Host Committee as senior vice president for corporate affairs. The temporary assignment began October 1 and will continue through the 2017 Super Bowl.
Adams is responsible for developing the Host Committee’s local outreach strategy and creating the committee’s charitable organization in preparation for Super Bowl LI in 2017. She will also serve as a liaison to community and city leaders.
“Sharon has been a great asset to our organization, and we wish her the best in her new role,” said Dawn Ullrich, president and CEO of Houston First. “We look forward to her return to our team after the Super Bowl.”
Adams, a licensed attorney with a background in journalism, education and political policy, has overseen Houston First's communications initiatives and community-wide partnerships since the company’s formation in 2011.
Before becoming CCO for Houston First, she served as director of Corporate Affairs and Marketing for the city's Convention & Entertainment Facilities Department and held other posts at Houston City Hall. She is a former university professor who headed the broadcast journalism program at the University of Nevada-Reno. She has worked as a television reporter, producer and anchor for the CBS and NBC television affiliates in Houston.
She attended the University of Pennsylvania and earned her law degree from the University of Houston.
