Houston First board member Katy Caldwell was one of 10 women in Houston named to the Class of 2016 for the Texas Executive Women (TEW)/Women on the Move award. Caldwell and the others were recognized November 15 at the Bayou Center Event Center.
Caldwell is the executive director of Legacy Community Health Services.
The Women on the Move annual recognition has been part of TEW since 1985. It was the brainchild of successful Houston businessman Robert Sakowitz and was started during a pivotal time in Houston. During that first year, Kathy Whitmire was serving as the first female mayor of Houston and other women held key positions around the city. All of them served as examples to teen-age girls, who to this day benefit from scholarships raised at the luncheon.
